PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine controller which can surely store operation history data necessary for failure analysis for each functional component of a vending machine. SOLUTION: In each of functional components such as a coin mechanism (C/M)8 and a bill validator (B/V)9, abnormality detection sensors 3C, 3B, memories of RAMs 5C, 5B, EEPROMs 6C, 6B or the like, and interval timers 7C, 7B for controlling them are connected to CPUs 1C, 1B, through data buses 2C, 2B. The interval timers 7C, 7B establish a predetermined time interval for transferring temporarily stored operation history data from the RAMs 5C, 5B to the EEPROMs 6C, 6B. The predetermined time interval is decided in consideration of a product's life set for each of the functional components of the vending machine and the number of times permitted for writing data into the EEPROMs 6C, 6B.
