PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein retrieval efficiency is poor because the order of display of retrieval results is limited to specific order of display depending on a database or, even if explicitly specified, aligned according to some specific key value. SOLUTION: A summary word list is created as a summary of a retrieval request, and then similarity calculating means for calculating similarity between the summary word list and a retrieved document and constraint checking means for checking constraints in the retrieved document are applied in this order or in the reverse order to retrieve documents fulfilling the constraints and is similar to the retrieval request.
