PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment capable of performing battery residual quantity alarm display in accordance with a battery characteristic even when using a battery of the same size, and various kinds, makers or the like. SOLUTION: This portable electronic equipment comprises a data reading part 20 for reading information on a battery stored in a radio tag 32 provided in the battery 16, and a CPU 22 for recognizing the read information on the battery and generating battery residual quantity alarm information to be displayed on a display part 26 corresponding to the recognized battery information. Since the battery has a different discharge characteristic according to a primary battery or a secondary battery, and a different battery capacity according to the maker, the residual quantity alarm of the battery used at present can be displayed precisely and effectively by generating the battery residual quantity alarm information corresponding to the battery kind, the battery maker name or the like.
