<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll-like phase difference film having high display quality without generating the deterioration of a visual angle characteristic and having a lagging axis in a roll width direction. <P>SOLUTION: The roll-like phase difference film consisting of polymer constituted of high molecular monomer units having positive refractive index anisotropy and high molecular monomer units having negative refractive index anisotropy has positive double refraction anisotropy as a whole, satisfies an inequality 1.00≤Nz<1.35 (1) (Nz in the inequality (1) is expressed by an equality (2)) and has the lagging axis in the roll width direction. In the equality Nz=(n<SB>x</SB>-n<SB>z</SB>)/(n<SB>x</SB>-n<SB>y</SB>) (2), each of the n<SB>x</SB>, n<SB>y</SB>, n<SB>z</SB>is a three-dimensional refractive index of the roll-like phase difference film, the n<SB>x</SB>is the refractive index of an in-plane lagging axis direction (x axis), the n<SB>y</SB>is the refractive index of a direction orthogonal to the x axis in an in-plane direction and the n<SB>z</SB>is the refractive index of a direction (z axis) vertical to a face including the x axis and the y axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
