METHOD FOR PRODUCING LACTOFERRIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating and purifying lactoferrin which is a milk protein having various physiological activities and even pharmacologically important from a milk containing the lactoferrin in high purity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the lactroferrin is characterized as follows. A milk raw material containing the lactoferrin is treated with a filtration membrane having 0.05-0.2μm pore diameter and the resultant concentrate is then brought into contact with a hydrophilic strongly acidic cation exchange resin to adsorb the lactoferrin. The resultant lactoferrin is then eluted with a solution at≥1 M salt concentration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
