PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrooptical display device capable of suppressing generation of flaws in a mounting step. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the electrooptical display device which is provided with a pair of substrates disposed opposite to each other via a prescribed gap, the pair of substrates is mounted in the state where an AR (anti-reflective) coat dust preventing glass (B) to which a UV tape 5 is stuck is stuck to at least a counter substrate 2 of a pair of the substrates, and judgment on whether optical characteristics meet prescribed requirement is performed after the UV tape 5 is peeled off.
