PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the occurrence of tooth hitting sounds at the mating section between a worm wheel 29 and a worm shaft 29, to facilitate assembly work, and to efficiently install components at a limited space in a vehicle. SOLUTION: An assisting apparatus comprises a torque sensor, a steering shaft, a pressurization pad 70, a return coil spring 30, and an electric motor 31.
