An MRI having an arrangement for reducing vibrations in a static magnetic field generating source is provided. A sealed vessel (2) for the static magnetic filed generating source has a rigid construction (4) for preventing vibrations generated by an inclined magnetic field generating source (21) from being transmitted to something else through the sealed vessel (2). The rigid construction (4) uses a connecting section (4) which connects a surface (25) on the side of, e.g., an imaging space (9) and a surface (26) opposed thereto. Since this increases the rigidity of the sealed vessel, it is possible to reduce vibrations transmitted from the inclined magnetic field generating section. The connecting section may be of through-hole construction, in which case it is possible to utilize the inner space of the through-hole for the laying of cables.
