PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin molded article which realizes heat resistance and water resistance and permits easy processing of a resin particle employed and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A scaly resin particle having a maximum size of at least 5 mm is obtained from a thin plate formed from a compound comprising 100 pts.wt. of a transparent thermosetting resin liquid endowed with water resistance and, incorporated therewith, a filler having an alkaline sodium content of at most 10% which accounts for at least 60% of the whole filler. The resin molded article is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of the transparent thermosetting resin liquid endowed with water resistance with 3-100 pts.wt. of the scaly resin particle and thermosetting the resultant compound.
