PURPOSE: A control device and a method of a drying machine making use of a relative humidity sensor are provided to execute exact control till drying action is completed from a point of time of starting the drying action by exactly deciding the drying degree of the drying machine with the relative humidity sensor. CONSTITUTION: A control device of a drying machine making use of a relative humidity sensor(100) comprises the relative humidity sensor sensing humidity discharged from the laundry; a control part(200) comparing the current relative humidity data measured from the relative humidity sensor and pre-measured relative humidity and deciding the drying degree of the drying machine, and outputting a control signal to a heater(300); and the heater heating the air circulating through the inside of the drying machine. In the relative humidity sensor, a heater pattern, an insulating film, a lower electrode, a porous humidity-sensitive film, and an upper electrode are successively formed on a circuit substrate. The operation of the heater is controlled by the control signal of the control unit.
