PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for comparing vector series whereby vector series can be compared at their most different parts and different definitions can be used for a distance used in DP matching and for a distance between the vector series. SOLUTION: The vector series A, B input by a DP matching part 1 and a vector series calculating part 2 are subjected to DP matching to create matching vector series. A vector pair extracting part 3 extracts a vector pair with a great distance d between vectors.
