PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable information equipment and a picture display method with which operability is improved and handleability enhanced by using a display device performing high definition display of type quality and performing a component arrangement conscious of human engineering. SOLUTION: In the portable information equipment, frames 5, 6 on which the display device having main displays 1, 2 performing the high definition display of type quality is mounted are supported freely openably and closably on a connection part 3. The connection part 3 is constituted with a hinge mechanism, the main displays 1, 2 are set in the spread space state and are used by making the connection part 3 a fulcrum and the main displays 1, 2 are overlapped, closed, and folded in two by making the connection part 3 the fulcrum, and can be carried. By rotating a jog dial 4, pictures displayed on the main displays 1, 2 can be changed.
