The rectangular hollow support profiles (1) of metal consist of two U-shaped support elements formed from sheet metal such as galvanized steel plate, each having a wide wall section (5) and narrower angled sections (6). The two support elements are sized so that the heights of the side sections are equal and so that one support element (3) by the two side sections can be fitted into the second support element (4), or, with equal width, can be interlocked by the side sections.
