PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always start from a desired operation mode after inputting a power source. SOLUTION: A rotary switch 18 is provided as a changeover switch for selecting the operation mode on an operation panel of this level planar 1. The rotary switch 18 can select one operation mode according to a rotating operation from among a remote control mode, a rotation mode, a scanning mode, a photodetector mode and an inclination mode. When inputting a power source switch 14, if the rotary switch 18 is positioned, for example, on the rotation position in the rotation mode, a main motor 60 is started in the rotation mode.
