The basis of the proposed development is a carbo-hydride electrode. This is manufactured from a mixture of carbon-based materials, containing 0-30 % carbon nano-pipe, 10-90 % graphite and 0-30 % active carbon. The mixture is further mixed with cobalt-oxides, such that the cobalt oxides form 10-95 % of the total mixture. The cobalt oxide mixture itself contains 50-100% cobalt suboxide (CoO). The carbon-metal oxide mixture is fixed to a conducting base, preferably using a plastic material. The electrode is formed using the metallic conductor. It is used in a battery, with an alkali medium, connected in the conventional way to nickel- or air-electrode. |
