PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of a refrigerant from a shaft sealing device to the outside of a cycle in stopping a compressor, and improve the safety and reliability. SOLUTION: In this refrigerating machine provided with an open type screw two-stage compressor 1 having the shaft sealing device 4, the refrigerating cycle is formed by the compressor 1, a condenser 6, a main liquid expansion valve 8, an evaporator 9 and the like. An oil supply system 20 or an oil discharge system 17 connected to the shaft sealing device 4 is provided with an oil pot 18 for temporarily reserving the refrigeration oil, and a check valve 19 is mounted at an upstream side with respect to the shaft sealing device and the oil pot.
