PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a descaling method and descaling equipment for a stainless steel strip where descaling efficiency can highly be maintained even in a state where a neutral salt aqueous solution is used over a long period of time without being exchanged with a new solution. SOLUTION: In the descaling method, a neutral salt aqueous solution with which anode reaction is performed, and a neutral salt aqueous solution with which cathode reaction is performed before and after the anode reaction are separated by cells, the neutral salt aqueous solution in each cell is allowed to overflow, and descaling treatment is performed while it is circulated between each cell and the corresponding circulation tank. In the descaling equipment, as the electrolytic cells, at least three cells are used, each cell is provided with an overflow liquid inlet part, the corresponding circulation tank, and a liquid circulation passage, and the neutral salt aqueous solution in each cell is made to circulate via the circulation pump.
