DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING FLOOR FACE HEIGHT OF ROLLING STOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and securely reduce a level difference between all platforms and a floor face of rolling stock without establishing a special mark or the like on the platforms for getting on/off at stations.

SOLUTION: A truck 12 with an air spring is provided, and floor face height of the rolling stock capable of adjusting the height of the floor face FL by supplying and exhausting air of the air spring 13 is controlled. Rolling stock speed is detected, and when the rolling stock speed is below a first predetermined speed and entry of the rolling stock to a station platform is detected, air of the air spring 13 is exhausted at a first pressure reducing speed by opening first and second exhaust valves SV1 and SV2 until a space between the floor face FL of the rolling stock and the station platform reaches a first level difference. When the rolling stock speed becomes below a second predetermined speed which is lower than the first predetermined speed, the air in the air spring 13 is exhausted at a second pressure reducing speed which is slower than the first pressure reducing speed by opening only the first exhaust valve SV1 until a second level difference which is smaller than the first level difference is detected.
