SYSTEM FOR EVALUATING SOUNDNESS OF NUCLEAR FUEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for evaluating the soundness of fuel rods which can appropriately evaluate it even if an abnormal transient change occurs in a nuclear power plant. SOLUTION: The system has a means 1 for detecting a state of an abnormal transient change in a nuclear power plant; a dry-out determination means 2 for judging whether dry-out occurs in the fuel rods or not by calculating the nuclear hydrothermal performance of a core when the abnormal transient change is detected; a means 3 for calculating the temperature of a cladding tube for a fuel rod where the dry-out occurs when the occurrence of the dry-out is determined and a means 4 for determining the soundness of the fuel rods on the basis of the temperature of the cladding tube for the fuel rod calculated at least by the means 3.
