PURPOSE: An optical pickup device of an optical disk drive is provided to enable an optical pickup to record/reproduce a signal as rotating in opposite direction to a disk direction. CONSTITUTION: A spindle motor(2) rotates a disk(1). The disk(1) is set at a turn table. An optical pickup(3) for recording a signal on a signal recording surface of the disk(1) or reading the recorded signal is guided in a radius direction of the disk(1) by pickup guide shafts(6,7). A feed guide is installed on one side of the optical pickup(3), and is guided along a lead screw(9) rotated by a driving motor(4) installed on a pickup base(8), so that the optical pickup(3) can move along the pickup guide shafts(6,7).
