Analytical method for the detection and quantitation of fuel additives

Additive package or its mixture identity is determined in a liquid hydrocarbon matrix by delivering liquid hydrocarbon matrix sample to an analytical system having separator(s) and detector(s) so that signal(s) is generated by the analytical system. A standard of a known additive package in a hydrocarbon matrix is compared to the signals from the sample to determine the identity of an additive package in the sample. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining cross-hauling of fuel comprising delivering a fuel sample to the analytical system and comparing signals from a standard of a known additive package in a hydrocarbon matrix to the signals from the fuel sample to determine the identities and/or concentrations of all additive packages in the fuel sample.
