PURPOSE: A housing structure of an oil pump is provided to directly retransmit oil in a useful state without passing through an oil pan, thereby shortening a whole circulation path of oil and reduce quantity of oil required for a transmission. CONSTITUTION: A housing(14) has oil flow grooves(18a,18b) formed at right and left sides for forming suction and discharge spaces for flowing in and out oil. The oil flow grooves are individually communicated with storage spaces(20a,20b) of a suction port and a discharge port formed at a lower part of the inside of the housing. A storage space for return(22) is formed between the storage spaces of the suction port and the discharge port for temporarily storing oil returned from a torque converter through a center part of the housing. The storage space for return is connected with the storage space of the suction port by the medium of a communicating path(24).
