PURPOSE: A device for reducing impulse noise by using a DNIe(Digital Natural Image engine) method is provided to remove impulse noise only without removing high frequency components from a digital video signal by using a median filter, thereby reproducing a natural image at high resolution. CONSTITUTION: A buffer(310) arrays digital video data. The first line memory(320) delays the video data generated from the buffer(310) by 1 line. The second line memory(330) delays the delayed data by 1 line. A median filter(340) selects a pixel of a median value when the outputted data of the first and second line memories(320,330) are inputted. A window comparator(370) compares a combination of the median value and an offset with a middle pixel, and generates a compared value. A fade evaluator(360) inputs the compared value, and generates the first and second correlation values. A cross fade unit(350) cross-fades the middle pixel and the pixel of the median value, and outputs the faded values.
