ELECTRIC POTENTIAL SENSOR AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact type electric potential sensor having a constitution capable of easily achieving compactness.

SOLUTION: The electric potential sensor includes a detecting electrode 121 opposed to an object of potential measurement; conductive movable shutters 110a-d for movably provided between the detecting electrode 121 and the object of potential measurement via a void for controlling the degree of exposure of the detecting electrode 121 to the object of potential measurement; and a drive means for driving the conductive movable shutters 11a-d. The drive means includes a current impressing means 150 for passing an electric current through the conductive movable shutters 110a-d in an approximately vertical direction to the direction of their movements.
