METHOD FOR DETECTING POSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting method for reducing the number of base stations required for detecting the position of a radio terminal. SOLUTION: The method includes: a time synchronization step for synchronizing a time in the clock generating part of the base station with a time in the clock generating part of the radio terminal by the use of a signal in a second frequency band, and measuring a signal transmission delay time being a time required for transmitting the signal in the second frequency band from the base station to the radio terminal or from the radio terminal to the base station; a direction detecting step for detecting the direction of the radio terminal by viewing from the base station by the use of a signal in a first frequency band; and a position detecting step for detecting the position of the radio terminal based on the signal transmission delay time measured in the time synchronization step and the direction of the radio terminal detected in the direction detecting step.
