PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder, loosening ammunition array without an elastic member such as a spring, and absorbing load due to intermittent take-in of ammunition array by a belt feeder type machine gun. SOLUTION: In the midway of an ammunition passage 10a formed in the interior of a feeder mechanism part 10, the base is expanded V-shaped in the direction of gravity along the passing direction of an ammunition array 80 to form a play part 10b. In the upstream of the play part 10b in the ammunition passage 10a, a feeder sprocket 11 rotated to feed the ammunition array toward the play part 10b by a motor 30, the rotation amount of which is detected by an encoder 30, is provided. In the downstream, an idler sprocket 13 and an encoder 30a for detecting the feed amount of the ammunition array 80 drawn from the play part 10b into the machine gun 50 are provided. A controller 40 controls the rotation of the motor 30 so that the ammunition array 80 is fed in such a supply amount that a difference from the feeding amount falls within a designated allowable value.
