PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storing method for an operating system capable of further reducing the volume of an image of the operating system. SOLUTION: In a computer system carrying out data processing by controlling execution of each program in accordance with the operating system, since folders that are not necessary for activation composing the operating system are compressed and stored in a compact flash ROM, and files that are necessary for activation are stored in the compact flash ROM in uncompressed states, the volume of the image of the operating system can be further reduced, and by this, a compact flash ROM with small storage capacity can be used in storing the operating system, and costs can be reduced.
