INK JET RECORDER AND INK GUIDE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which manufacturing process is not complicated and ink is not left in a cap. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder is arranged so that a suction passage 14 is formed between the groove-like passage 11 of an ink guide member 10 and a cap member 2 and an ink discharge opening 4 is opened to communicate with the atmosphere through a plurality of interconnecting holes 13. The distance between the bottom face 6 and the opposing ceiling surface of the groove-like passage 11 decreases as the groove-like passage 11 recedes from the ink discharge opening 4. One longitudinal end part of the ink guide member 10 covers the ink discharge opening 4 entirely on the second recess 3b side and the horizontal cross-sectional area of the interconnecting hole 13 increases as it recedes from the ink discharge opening 4.
