PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuning fork type oscillating piece and a piezoelectric device capable of obtaining stable drive characteristics with small dispersion in CI (Crystal Impedance) values, while suppressing the CI values to small figures. SOLUTION: The tuning fork type oscillating piece comprises a base 11 and a plurality of oscillating arms 12 and 13 formed so as to project from the base 11. Grooves 14 and 15 are formed at the front surface and the rear surface of the oscillating arms 12 and 13. When the length of the oscillating arm is set to L and the position of a root 16 of a tuning fork crotch is employed as a reference (reference line X), an end at the base side of the grooves 14 and 15 formed at the oscillating arms 12 and 13 is set to a range from -0.1L to +0.15L (making oscillating arm section tip side as +) in relation to the reference.
