PURPOSE: A method for reducing the number of layers in a multilayer signal routing device is provided to form a plurality of conductive signal path layers on the multilayer signal routing device. CONSTITUTION: A method is used for reducing the number of layers in a multilayer signal routing device having a plurality of electrically conductive signal path layers(16a,16b,16c,16d) for routing a plurality of electrical signals. A plurality of electrically conductive vias(20,22,26,32) are formed in the multilayer signal routing device. The electrically conductive vias are arranged so as to form at least one channel on at least one electrically conductive signal path layers. At least two of the plurality of electrically conductive signal path layers are electrically coupled. At least a portion of the plurality of electrical signals are grouped based at least in part upon their proximity to the at least one channel so that the electrical signals are efficiently routed. |
