The device has an external envelope (2) and a tapered end part for introducing a vessel. The end part is constituted by a nose (14) formed at a distant end of the envelope. An opening unit has two longitudinal slits dividing the nose into several deployable segments to open the nose. An internal girdle mounted in the envelope exercises a support on an internal wall of the nose for deploying the segments. An independent claim is also included for an introducer for installation of vascular implant.
