<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iris recognition system with an inexpensive structure without providing two cameras. <P>SOLUTION: A range finding sensor 3 measures the distance between an imaging element 1 and the face 11 of an authentication object to acquire distance information, and an image analysis part 4 acquires position data of eyes 12 from the image of the whole face taken by the imaging element to analyze the position of the eyes. An imaging element control part 5 drives a moving means 2 based on the distance information measured by the range finding sensor and the eye position data analyzed by the image analysis part, thereby moving the imaging element to set the imaging direction to the eye part of the authentication object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
