A matrix type display apparatus comprises a display panel having a first main surface on which a display image is displayed and a second main surface substantially parallel to the first main surface, scanning lines which are provided to the display panel and parallel to each other, signal lines which cross the scanning lines and are parallel to each other, display pixels provided at respective intersections of the scanning lines and the signal lines, and back side wirings which are formed on the second main surface and connected with at least either the scanning lines or the signal lines at opposed end portions of the display panel.
