PURPOSE: A tape loading device of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus is provided to contact a sector gear for forming a tape loading device which loads a tape by ejecting the tape with a discontinuous portion of a loading gear in a relatively wide area. CONSTITUTION: The first loading gear and the second loading gear are sequentially applied with a driving force of a sector gear(70) driven by a driving source, and move a tape between a loading position and an unloading position. The sector gear(70) is combined with the first loading gear in a driving gear portion(72) to load and unload the tape. A rib(75) is formed in a discontinuous portion(74) and other discontinuous portion which are out of an idler gear, to widen a contacted area of the discontinuous portion(74) and the other discontinuous portion.
