<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for improving a user experience by extending a function of an object previewer in a sell browser. <P>SOLUTION: The sell browser achieves an extensibility mechanism to allow a developer of a third party to extend a default previewer function related to a particular file type. A graphical user interface includes controls 306, 308, 310 allowing a user to select a previewer matching to files displayed by a plurality of usable previewers. Or the sell browser can automatically select the previewer among the plurality of usable previewers.
