PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that unnecessary load is applied to paper and failures of printing quality such as paper cockles may be generated under a certain using condition because the warming operation of a pressure roll is always performed after EOF detection in conventional technology. SOLUTION: In the fixing mechanism control system provided with a tractor for carrying a long and continuous sheet of paper, a heating roll and a pressure roll which are used for heating, pressurizing and fixing a toner image transferred to the paper and capable of uniformly controlling the temperature distribution of the pressure roll by rotating the pressure roll in a state of press contact with the heating roll just after recognizing the state of no paper, the uniform control is performed only when paper width is prescribed width or less.
