A coating composition for a green sheet comprising a ceramic powder and a binder resin mainly containing a butyral resin further comprises a xylene resin as a tackifier. The coating composition contains not more than 1.0 mass%, preferably not less than 0.1 but not more than 1.0 mass%, more preferably more than 0.1 but not more than 1.0 mass% of the xylene resin per 100 parts by mass of the ceramic powder.
