<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device that prevents nonuniform transport of toner. <P>SOLUTION: The development device 5 of an image forming apparatus 1 includes: a transport member 18 which has a travelling-wave electrode for transporting toner T; and a belt 22 which covers the transport member 18 and moves at a very low speed. The transport member 18 is disposed such that a part which comes in contact with the belt 22 in a flat face parallel to the direction of the movement of the belt 22 and within a plane parallel to the direction of the thickness of the belt 22 is arcuate (projecting). This stabilizes the firm contact of the belt 22 with the transport means 18, prevents the belt 22 from floating from the transport member 18, and also prevents the belt 22 from wrinkling. Further, even when the belt 22 moves, the distance between the belt 22 and the traveling-wave electrode is kept constant. This makes toner transportable stably. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
