PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge detector capable of converting an accumulated electric charge into voltage at lower voltage and with high efficiency, having a wide dynamic range of output voltage, and having good linearity of conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: A charge detector comprises an N-type (N-) layer 108 of a low concentration formed in a P-type well 101, and an electric charge accumulation section constituted of an N-type (N+) layer of a high concentration formed between the N-layer and a main surface, wherein the N+ layer is connected to an input terminal of an amplifier transistor 405 of an output circuit, and the N-layers are all depleted until at least saturation electric charges are accumulated after a backward bias is applied to the N+layer in discharge of the accumulated electric charges.
