PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resonance filter in which suppression of a forbidden wavelength, an FSR, a forbidden wavelength width and a forbidden band can be adjusted, and which has a short optical path length and is inexpensively manufactured. SOLUTION: The resonance filter has; first and second polarizing beam splitters which are arranged on the optical path of an optical wave; a cyclic optical path which is so set that the optical wave reflected by the second polarizing beam splitter 13 is returned to the first polarizing beam splitter 11 and goes to the second polarizing beam splitter again; and a polarization angle control member 12 which is arranged between the first and second polarizing beam splitters and controls the angle of polarization of the optical wave.
