PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved valve control system for an internal combustion engine having both of a dual valve lift function and a valve (or a cylinder) deactivation function. SOLUTION: In the valve control system 13, a rocker arm assembly 29 formes a second fulcrum surface disposed in an axial direction between a first fulcrum surface and first and second cam followers. A second lash compensation device 85 is operably associated with the cylinder head 11, and has a second plunger engaged with the second fulcrum surface of the rocker arm assembly.
