A system and a method for providing information that is optimized for each user in a desired format are provided. Upon receiving a request from a user, a retrieving unit (10) in an optimal information providing system starts retrieval in a personal information database (20) and an information contents database (30). The retrieving unit (10), in response to the request from the user, retrieves related information in the information contents database (30), deletes unnecessary information from the entire information obtained as a result of the retrieval based on the user's personal information obtained from the personal information database (20), adds to the retrieval results information that is considered to be of interest to the user judging from the user's personal information even if the information is not included in the retrieval results, and then provides optimal information to the user. <IMAGE> |
