DOUBLE FABRIC HAVING BULGING PROPERTY BY GAS, CAPABLE OF OMITTING SEWING PROCESS IN WEAVING

PURPOSE: Double fabric having bulging property by gas is capable of omitting a sewing process in weaving, lowering air permeability of a joining part, manufacturing air pockets having various shapes and improving weaving property and flatness. The double fabric is useful for cushioning products such as a side curtain type air bag for a car. CONSTITUTION: Double fabric is obtained by the steps of: weaving two plain weaves with a weaving machine simultaneously; joining the two plain weaves opposite centering around a cross point; and then coating the fabric with a synthetic resin. The double fabric is characterized by: (1) under 0.5mm of thickness of one plain weave; (2) under 3.5Kgf of stiffness; (3) at least 6KPa when internal pressure is measured after 5seconds after pressurizing gas with 50KPa of initial pressure; (4) at least 80Kg/in of seam strength and under 60% of breaking elongation; and (5) at least 80% of strength hold rate.
