PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for coating a metallic wire, having little environmental load, showing high surface hardness and abrasion resistance, excellent in knitting processability, scarcely causing decoloration and lowering of toughness with time, and excellent in weather resistance. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises a polyester resin consisting of 10 to 80 mass% of (A) a polyacrylate resin and 90 to 20 mass% of (B) a copolyester resin containing terephthalic acid/ethylene glycohol as the main component. Preferably, the resin composition further contains 1 to 30 pts.mass of a thermoplastic elastomer and/or a polyolefin resin and 1 to 20 pts.mass of a phenoxy resin, based on 100 pts.mass of the resin composition (A)+(B).
