PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide luminescent materials for organic EL devices having high emission luminance and long emission life, and to provide organic EL devices using the same. SOLUTION: The polymer for electroluminescent devices comprises a substituted or unsubstituted conjugated polymer having at least one unit represented by general formula [1] (wherein Z denotes an atomic group which forms an aromatic ring) on a side chain directly or through a linking group.
