PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange wherein a revised setting parameter is written to an external storage medium, and the lifetime of an external storage medium drive is kept long. SOLUTION: The private branch exchange includes: a storage medium drive means capable of writing file data to an external storage medium; a first storage means for storing setting parameter data; a data processing means for revising the contents of the setting parameter data on the basis of an operation applied to an input means; and a data storage processing means for storing the setting parameter data stored in the first storage means into the external storage medium when it is discriminated that the data processing means has revised the setting parameter data by a prescribed amount or more.
