<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the leakage of information stored in a storage means at the time of and after returning an information storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic card reader/writer takes a magnetic card into the main body when reading information, reads information from the magnetic card, and stores the read information in a RAM. The read information stored in the RAM is transmitted by communicating with a high-order terminal. When the communication with the high-order terminal is then completed, the erasure of the read information is started from the RAM. After the erasure is started, the magnetic card is exhausted from the inside of the main body. Thus, since the read information is being erased from the RAM or the read information has been erased at the time of and after exhausting the magnetic card, in other words, at the time of and after returning the magnetic card, the leakage of the read information stored in the RAM can be prevented from leaking to a third party. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
