There is provided a read device used in a part supply system including a plurality of electronic part supply devices such as feeders arranged in order and capable of easily reading information on the supply devices such as ID from an indicator such as a bar code attached to the supply devices. The read device (100) includes a read unit (102) having a bar code reader and a guide unit (104) for forming a guide path extending in the direction of arrangement of the supply devices (18) and moving the read unit (102) along the guide path. The read unit (102) can be made compact and detachably attached to the guide unit (104). The read device becomes further a simple read device if read scan can be performed in both directions and the read unit (102) is moved manually. The guide unit (104) can be detachably attached to the part supply system (16). Furthermore, a radio transmission device (182) can be arranged on the read unit (102) so that the information which has been read is radio transmitted.
