PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the capacity loss caused by the installation of an infrared ray sensor in an automatic ice machine wherein the completion of ice making is detected by the infrared ray sensor. SOLUTION: This automatic ice machine is composed of an ice tray 4 to which the water is supplied, a driving part 11 for separating the ice from the ice tray 4 by applying the force to the ice, when the supplied water is frozen and the ice is made, and an ice storing case 6 mounted at a lower part of the ice tray for storing the ice, and the infrared ray sensor 12 is mounted on the driving part 11 for detecting the infrared ray emitted from the water supplied to the ice tray 4. Whereby a clearance between an upper wall of the ice tray 4 and a reversing path of the ice tray 4 can be reduced, and a space can be saved without interference in reversing the ice tray 4.
