<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-repair waterproof sheet with the performance that: (1) it has water stop pressure of 1 Mpa (10 kgf/cm2) or more when holes are opened with a punch with 10mm in diameter, and of 6 Mpa or more when a punch with 30mm in diameter is used for opening holes, (2) the sheet is a single sheet easy to transport, it is connected with another by placing it on top of another or contacting two sheets and adhering them together with self-repair cut off tapes, like usual waterproof sheets, (3) the sheet is thinner and lighter than these waterproof sheets (5mm or less in thickness at minimum to meet the above requirements), (4) no water-absorbing polymers leak when the sheet is cut, and (5) the sheet can be used either of waterproof sheet and cut off sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A 1mm to 20mm thick layer of powdered water-absorbing polymers mixed with adhesives adhering 2 to 30wt% water-absorbing polymers together is placed between two non-woven or fiber cloth sheets. The two sheets are sewed together so that closed grids in an arbitrary shape each with its side being 1cm to 100cm long at maximum may be formed on the sheets (hereinafter called water-absorbing pads).An impervious cover sheet is adhered on the top and bottom of the water-absorbing pad. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
